Hello

Hello, my name is Shimon Whiteson. I'm a 5th year PhD student and doctoral candidate at The University of Texas at Austin. I'm working with Peter Stone and my research is about reinforcement learning. In particular, I'm interested in removing barriers to its practical application by improving the performance of function approximators, automating the task of feature selection, etc. This year I'll just be participating in the doctoral consortium and checking out some hopefully interesting talks. I've never been to Pittsburgh before so maybe I will explore some interesting things the city has to offer. The question is: *does* Pittsburgh have anything interesting to offer?

So you are at Austin TX? Great state (I was born in Dallas); bad former governor (Bush has killed too many people). Anyway, somewhere in Houston there is a Dr. Paul Frenger who has written a noteworthy ACM Sigplan paper on Mind.Forth AI which I would like to recommend for a look-see by the conference attendees. Best wishes, -Arthur (Mentifex)
