About myself

My name is Mykel Kochenderfer and I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Edinburgh participating in the AAAI/SIGART Doctoral Consortium. I do my research at the Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour under the supervision of Gillian Hayes in the general area of model-based reinforcement learning. I grew up in Tracy, California and went to Stanford University for my B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science. It is absolutely wonderful to be living in Scotland now, although the weather is not quite as friendly as it was in California. I am in Sweden at the moment visiting my wife's family before going to Amsterdam for TechEd and then heading to Pittsburgh for AAAI. I'm really looking forward to meeting the other Ph.D. students at the Doctoral Consortium and getting feedback on my work. See you all there!

You have written an interesting story about yourself and especially your interest in machine learning - which is an aspect of the newConcept module of Mind.Forth artificial intelligence. With best wishes, -Arthur (Mentifex)
